![]() Jim Dixon and wife Cindy have been professionally entertaining together since the early 1990's. Over the years, as well as building up an impressive repertoire of material, they also developed those vocal and harmony skills that form the nucleus of their present sound. Jim's skill as front man rivals the best in the business. His light hearted presence on stage and ability to connect with the audience, make them feel like they are just "one of the family". Cindy's vocal rendering of songs by Country legends like Loretta and Tammy among many others are pure delight. Blessed with a unique and powerful voice she can wind you up with her own style of Hank Williams or make you cry with a tender ballad by Sammi Smith. DIXON & Company have been providing pure country entertainment across Ontario at Service Clubs, Weddings and Private functions, Festivals and Concerts. Attracting mainly an over 50 dance crowd the band has noticed a growing younger audience that say they enjoy the infectious energy the band spreads while listening to songs of their past. Under huge demand by friends and fans, DIXON recorded and released their debut CD "friends" in 2004. Produced by Singer/Songwriter Terry Sumsion, this album captures the bands wide variety of songs from love ballads to the swing of Bob Wills to the country side of Bob Dylan. Their newest 2008 album "Lonestar Influence" again is a taste of what DIXON does best, strong vocals wrapped in harmony, mixed with some of Canada's most talented musicians, providing the listener with the variety the band is known for. Since 2005 DIXON has been part of Country radio, still spinning on the daily lineup, also having a top 10 single on the ECMC. Even with the overwhelming attention the album has created, the band truly thrives on perfoming to live audiences. Regardless if it is with just Jim & Cindy and vocal show or with the full band with steel or lead guitar for dance venues, DIXON is most comfortabe on stage, live! Anyone who catches their show will be instantly sold on their stage presence, energy and the vocal package they have to offer. |
